Who it suits
This is the class most people start with, and it assumes no experience at all.
If you sit most of the day, this targets exactly what that does to your back and hips.
Many students do foundation work first, then add reformer once the basics are familiar.

No. Flexibility is an outcome, not a requirement. Beginners are the majority in this class.
Mat pilates uses your own body weight. Reformer adds spring resistance and support from the machine. Both build the same underlying control.
Clothing you can move in. Grip socks are useful but not essential for mat work.
Once a week builds familiarity, twice a week builds strength noticeably faster. Start where it fits your schedule.
